Verily
Platform Redesign & Design System
Agency | AKQA
Role – Senior Designer (Product / UI & Design Systems)
Scope – Website redesign, design system, design tokens, editorial content platform
Product Focus – Translating a complex health-tech organization into a clear, scalable digital platform.
Verily, originally incubated within Google X, evolved from a collection of exploratory health initiatives into a company focused on bridging the gap between evidence generation and patient care. As the organization matured, it needed a clearer digital presence that could better articulate its mission, streamline its offerings, and build trust in a complex health-tech landscape.
At AKQA, I contributed to the UX strategy and was responsible for the UI design of Verily.com, translating Verily’s refined positioning into a cohesive and scalable digital experience. The site was designed as an editorial-forward platform that highlighted flagship solutions while supporting clarity, credibility, and long-term growth.
I worked on the creation of a new design system to support consistency across content-heavy layouts and evolving product needs. Design tokens were used to codify core decisions and ensure a smooth transition from design to development, allowing updates to scale efficiently and be implemented accurately across engineering workflows.
The result is a flexible platform and design system that supports Verily’s vision of precision health, while allowing the digital experience to evolve alongside the company.
